Inspiration for this quilt came from a hand-pieced quilt, called “Star in a Circle”, made in Eastern Tennessee by an unknown maker, circa 1930. The six-pointed stars surrounded in red remind me of the Chinese Checkers game board I played with as a young child. My version, made from thrift-store shirts, has only four blocks, scrappy sashing and borders, and a backing that is pieced from thrift-store shirts as well.
