This quilt was made by my maternal grandmother, Helen Sibley Ormiston, in the late 1930’s. The wedding ring quilt pattern was very popular during this period. Grandma used leftover fabric scraps from the dresses she made for herself and her daughter (my mother), with a white muslin background and a butter yellow for the back. The batting is quite thin. She outline-quilted the rings and crosshatched the centers. All piecing and quilting was done by hand. Size: 63″ x 76″.
